Hurdle Mills Market & Butcher Shop

This is a nice little market out in the country. Reasonably well stocked market with their own butcher shop. Good meat selection. Surprisingly good beer selection. A decent fresh produce section. We picked up some boneless pork chops for dinner. Prices are very reasonable. Attached to the Flat River Cafe... which, if you haven't eaten there yet, do yourself a favor and give it a try (it's great). Not much to look at from the outside --- don't blink or you'll drive right past it.

Love this place. Best meats in town and the owner and the entire staff are like family.

I've always shopped here for excellent fresh sausage and NC brewed beer. I went by there today to get barbeque for a camping trip. The people working up front were most helpful and polite, but I sure can't say the same for the people who work in their meat department. They ignored my requests for assistance and walked by me as they were "too busy" to help me. I asked whether they had other items available for purchase and was rudely blown off. Never again......I'll make the drive to Twins where they always are happy to help me and appreciate my business.

I generally stop here on the way to a friend's house and see if they have any cuts that catch my eye. I've only gotten beef so far, but it's been of excellent quality and price. It's also one of the few places that carries ground bison, though I'd love them to carry some steak, too. What can you say? Friendly local convienience store and meat market that works.

I think this is a great little place to eat and shop. We made a decision to support local businesses during COVID, and we drive out of our way to get to Hurdle Mills. Today was the 2nd time the person checking me out wasn't wearing a face mask. I understand that some customers may not wear masks, but when the person checking me out and handling my food can't be bothered, it makes me rethink my priorities. I hope next time I shop here is a better experience. I want to keep shopping local, and little shops like this deserve our business. 5 stars when I shop here and see smiling eyes looking at me over a mask.

It's always a great place to get mea, veggies, and almost anything else you may need to cook. The restaurant next door is amazing also.

This is a small local grocery store out in the country, but their prices are very comparable to walmart on most things. The meat, however, is 100x better than anywhere you can get locally. It doesnt matter what type of meat it is, it is much better than any other place I have been to. Beer and dog food prices are comparable to costco.

The only place I buy meat. They're specials and packages fit my budget perfectly and the quality is good too. I also love the locally made jams and sauces!

Great place . The owner loves the locals that come in . Walking into a store and people there know your name your kids names and glad to see you goes a long ways .

They have everything you could possibly need, which saves this busy, working mom of two from driving into town for the simplest items!! Love it & the familiar friendly faces!!

Somewhere between a quickie-mart and a small grocery. Snacks, canned goods, and live bait. Bigger than expected meat counter with lots of cuts, but all packaged, no service counter. Origin of the meat not specified.
